Devious Journal Entry

Mon Mar 31, 2008, 7:42 PM
Would you morons stop sending me that flesh-and-blood copy machine's stupid deviations?

I do not care. You would not believe the sheer amount that I do not care how great you think her copy of someone else's art is great. I don't care if it was done with photoshop, lightbox, or freehand, she's still a hack.

In fact, let me expand.

I spoke to one of my friends who is an ACTUAL artist, who does indeed believe the piece in question was hand-drawn. So, I'll trust her judgment.

Do I believe that means I owe the whiny little xerox an apology?

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeellllllllllllllllllllllllllllll nooooooooooooo.

First, she's continued trying to stir up her fans against me. I'd say if you didn't realize that's what she's doing every time she says "omg I know that guy sucks" or "LOOK AT MAH PROOFS!" that you're a moron, but judging from the sort of comments, notes, and general harassment I've gotten it's pretty much a given that her fans are indeed complete and total idiots.

Second, if your absolute and only skill is looking at the work someone else has already done and doing a copy of it, then firstly, you might want to expect someone to call you on being a copier, and secondly, you're NOT AN ARTIST. You might have technique, but she has no creativity and no artistic ability beyond that of a Canon Inkjet.

What exactly do all these mewling, whining sycophants see in it? "Yay! You've made an exacting pencil copy of art that already existed!" ... So? Couldn't you just, you know, look at the original art? What exactly is gained by making a pencil copy of it? What artistic expression is there, what addition? Hell, since the things every single one of her drooling moron horde has tried to point out are actually FLAWS in the copy, it means that the reproduction isn't as good as the original. Good job, you've done the equivalent of poorly transcribing the script of a television series episode, having it be riddled with typos, and calling it an epic fanfic.

I know I said I wasn't going to make this an insult thing, but since that's all the yipping chihuahuas that gather around the xerox-cow's butt to tell her how great her farts are seem capable of saying, I'll put it in their language:

Screw her, screw all of her fans, and screw her pencil drawings that are most definitely not art.

BE WELL! XD

ETA: Oh, before the Twit Brigade starts trotting out their general-issue insults and whines, I'll take a few moments to address those.

"You're just jealous!" - Why would I be jealous? I can do the same thing she can by opening an image in compupic, changing it to grayscale, and saving it at a kinda crappy resolution. My way just takes less work and produces more accurate results.

"You just want the attention!" - THEN STOP GIVING IT TO ME, MORONS. If you think all I want is pageviews and comments, then stop looking at my page, stop leaving shouts on my page, stop sending me notes, and sure as hell stop stalking me back to my livejournal. The only thing I get out of your commenting and everything else is eyestrain from rolling my eyes so hard at the badly-spelled attention that claims I was just doing it to get attention. Honestly, do you people have the critical thinking skills that evolution granted the average rutabaga?

"zomg shutz up u suk" - Yuh-huh.

"[link]" "Look at her gallery!" "Here's proof!" - Again, if I want to see grainy black and white unauthorized reproductions of someone else's artwork, I'll spend five minutes doing some mass-conversion clicking in compupic.

"She's just that good at using reference!" - You do not understand what using reference actually means. Because you are stupid.

That seems to cover the entire range of thought her fans are capable of. There we go.

LOL, so where is your artwork then?
:iconrannxxv:
LOL, it's spread all over the inside of your mom's pussy.

Medium: Cum.

Thanks for the watch.

If you had simply taken a few minutes and looked at more of her gallery, you would know that not everything she creates is copies of existing artwork. All this only proves that you couldn't recreate that yourself, or you would understand just how difficult it is to do. If you were an artist yourself, which, given the staggering lack of evidence to the contrary I can only assume that you're not, you would understand that recreation is hugely important when developing technical skills and personal style. We create our styles based on a variety of other ones that have inspired us combined with our own natural motivation to make art.

No, that piece wasn't the most original or unique in her gallery, but she showed it because she was proud of the improvements in her technique that it showed. To call people who understand and respect this 'drooling minions' is totally unecessary, and disrespectful to the amazing community that DA has achieved. If you don't like it, fine, but there's really no need to shatter someone's self confidence to such a level. And the sheer number of outraged people has nothing to do with their level of intelligence, it's purely because we are showing our support for an artist (yes ARTIST) who is trying to improve all the time- something that can't be sniffed at.

These comments and 'general-issue insults' are entirely justified, and I hope that none of your other 'artist' friends ever show you their artwork in case you destroy everything good about it.

I dare you to call me a drooling minion.
:iconrannxxv:
Okay, you're a drooling moron.

(Your dares are kinda easy.)

I'd have to agree on one point you made here about Cataclysm X and it has bothered me ever since I first seen her art, not of her stuff is original. It takes some skill to accurately recreate a drawing/painting/whatever but that's it. Art is not about recreations. So, you make a pretty good point here, although you put it in a pretty harsh way.

ok well i dont want to sound rude and this might be old news for you but...

i checked the definition of art and it said "a form of expression that pleases one of the senses"

so that would mean drawings and music right???

so maybe cataclysm-x drawing/copying (whatever your saying she is doing) pictures like the tifa one is her form of expression that pleases her....

and btw out of curiosity, do you like tifa?? maybe thats why you disapprove of cataclysm's drawing???

Just to try to clear her name, cataclysm X did not send anybody. She didn't tell anyone to go yell at you. We came here on our own will. So please dont get mad at her. She didn't send "drooling minions" or whatever. This drooling minion (me) came by himself.
